Jonathan Parshall presents “The 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway: The Turning Point in the Pacific.”

On June 5, 2012, the 70th anniversary of the decisive Battle of Midway, Jonathan Parshall presented “The 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway: The Turning Point in the Pacific” as part of the Museum’s Mason Lecture Series.

Jonathan Parshall is the founder of the web’s foremost site on the Japanese Imperial Navy. He has written for U.S. Naval War College Review, Naval Institute Proceedings, and World War II Magazine, and has contributed to several books on the Japanese navy. Together with Anthony Tully, Parshall coauthored Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway which was the winner of the 2005 John Lyman Book Award for the “Best Book in U.S. Naval History.”
