Registration is now open for the Museum’s 2nd annual Robotics Challenge. Focused on the enduring themes of innovation, teamwork, community, and cooperation, the robotics program at The National WWII Museum provides a springtime competition opportunity for both established teams and newcomers to the field of student robotics. The Challenge is an exciting opportunity for middle school students to develop 21st century skills and participate in active problem solving based on real-life scenarios from WWII.

The theme of the 2014 Challenge is D-Day and incorporates a collaborative team project with the robot game. Robot missions include camouflaging a tank, supplying the invasion by deploying an oil pipeline, retrieving and decoding an enemy message, avoiding beach obstacles and unloading soldiers from a Higgins boat. The Challenge will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in The National WWII Museum’s US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center.
