SciTech Tuesday: So You Think Your Robot Can Dance?
Researchers at Virginia Tech’s Robotics & Mechanisms Laboratory (RoMeLa) have designed CHARLI-2, the firefighting autonomous humanoid robot of the future. As an added bonus, he also dances Gangnam Style. A $3.5 million grant from the Navy has funded the project to design the next model CHARLI-2, the Autonomous Shipboard Humanoid (ASH) that might eventually work next alongside human sailors, from fighting shipboard fires to mopping the decks. Learn more about CHARLI-2.
